SteppingStone Journals' Cancer Organizer

SteppingStone Journals was founded by Susan Thornberg, a breast cancer survivor and cancer caregiver. After undergoing treatment, Susan wished she had documented her cancer journey from the onset to assist with the day-to-day management of her illness and to retain a greater sense of control.

When her mother, Shirley Thielo, was diagnosed with lung cancer one year later, Susan became her advocate and caregiver. Understanding the importance of having medical and personal care information easily accessible, Susan designed a cancer notebook for her mother. This became the first draft of the SteppingStone Journal, My Personal Journey Through Cancer.

The notebook made it easier to manage and organize the many details related to her mother's diagnosis and treatment. Health care providers were impressed and found the medical organizer to be extremely useful for both the patient and themselves.

Our Cancer Organizer

Seeing the value of the cancer organizer first-hand, Susan wanted to design a notebook to help other cancer patients. She sought input from cancer providers, caregivers and patients. Understanding the need for this resource, DeVore Marketing was selected to help create the notebook and partner with SteppingStone Journals to publish My Personal Journey through Cancer.

Based on the response we have been receiving, this cancer organizer is essential for patients diagnosed with any type of cancer.
